Shai paneer

Shai paneer

Ingredients

  • ½ tbsp vegetable oil
  • 5g almonds
  • 10g cashews
  • 1 tsp cardamom pods
  • 2g ginger, grated
  • 1 garlic cloves, grated
  • ½ green chilli, de-seeded, halved
  • 75g onions, sliced
  • 100ml water
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp dried cloves
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 125g Paneer cheese
  • 125ml Renastep™

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add in the almonds, cashews and cardamom pods, fry until golden and remove from pan. 

  2. Add in the ginger, garlic, green chilli and onions and cook until soft.

  3. Add everything into a blender and blend to a smooth paste, some water may be added to achieve a smoother consistency.

  4. In the same pan heat oil and add in the cumin seeds, cinnamon stick and cloves and allow to sizzle for 30 seconds.

  5. Then add in the garam masala, turmeric and nut paste and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  6. Add in the water and bubble for around 10 minutes.

  7. Add in the Renastep and allow to warm through.

  8. Once warmed add in paneer, cook for 1 minute and turn off the heat. 

  9. Serve with rice and enjoy.
